- Kay McDade : College Principal
With a wealth of teaching experience in the beauty industry spanning 32 years as Course Leader at Central College of Commerce, Kay’s association with The Scottish Beauty School started long before the opening of our offices in Hillington and she became a permanent member of staff 3 years ago.
Kay is well appointed as Principal with her Teaching Qualifications in Further Education (TQFE) and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Professional Studies in Education covering Special Education along with being part of the Scottish Forum of the Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA). Having an invaluable range of experience, she has worked with the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) in writing and developing units along with being part of the design team for Skills for Work in Beauty.
When not working, she enjoys eating out, singing with the Celebration Choir and visiting her gorgeous grandson in London and regularly has us all captivated with her childhood stories and tales
- Toni Klineberg : Educator
Toni’s love affair with artificial nails started at the age of 4 sticking plastic nails on with BluTack! This practise continued until she was 16 when her mum took her down to the London Beauty Show, she became smitten with Nail Art and has never looked back since.
She attended Clydebank College graduating with an HND in Beauty Therapy, keeping herself busy by obtaining a teaching qualification, working full time at Hollywood Nails & Beauty whilst teaching evening classes at College of Commerce from the age of 19.
Toni has continued her nail knowledge and education attending the NSI University in Belgium in 2005, regularly judging at competitions around the world while continuing to teach before taking a break to enjoy married life in 2006 and raise her two gorgeous children.
With over 20 years of experience in all aspects of nails and beauty, her passion lies firmly with creating beautiful nails and is constantly being inspired by fashions, trends and other nail techs.
Toni’s youngest has inherited her mother’s talents and has upgraded her early application techniques to include double sided tape and glitter!
- Fiona Jackson : Educator
Fiona has been a beauty therapist and salon owner for over 10 years and a lecturer with The Scottish Beauty School for 7 years. She teaches the majority of our beauty courses from Spray Tanning and Manicure to Hot Stone Massage and Facial Treatments and loves seeing enthusiastic young students keen to start on their chosen career path.
Fiona loves the variety of classroom and salon work feels that her time in the salon benefits students with her ever expanding knowledge of the industry, products and technology available and is keen to share.
- Caroline Stevenson : Office Manager
Coming from a banking and accounting background, Caroline joined NSI and The Scottish Beauty School in 2008 primarily doing what she does best: numbers! After proving she is more than a statistics and figures kind of girl, she has received praise by way of a promotion to Office Manager.
Caroline’s 3 wild boys (including her partner!) keep her diary busy with football and skate boarding, holidays to the States and regular weekends away to Dunoon. When not being general taxi and social secretary for the 2 smaller boys, Caroline loves keeping fit with 10k runs and Tough Mudder events and quite often Monday mornings being a challenge due to sore legs!
- Anna Marie Speirs : Telesales Manager
Anna Marie joined us in 2006 working full time in our telesales department, regulating stock and keeping customers updated on special offers and new product lines. As many of our regulars know, she loves to drink tea, chat and is at her very best blethering about the impending Open Days 3 times a year!
Prior to NSI, Anna Marie returned to University and with all her hard work juggling a young family, working part time and studying hard finally paying off, she graduated with a BA Hons. in retail and management.
Her daughters are all grown up and now following in their mothers footsteps to The Scottish Beauty School. They have worked just as hard as Anna Marie but on the other side of reception as they love our Beauty and Nail courses so much!
- Jacqueline Glass : SQA Coordinator
Following a successful career in banking, Jacqueline was lured to the world of retail quickly establishing herself a boutique clothing store in Ayrshire until the decision to emigrate to Florida developed. After two years in the States, Jacqueline and her family then returned to the less sunny Scotland where a change of scenery also brought about a change of career path with college calling and a beauty therapy qualification acquired!
Jacqueline joined NSI and The Scottish Beauty School in 2004 as SQA Co-Ordinator & Course Administrator and is involved in most aspects of the day specialising in ‘tea making’ and general ‘blethering’. When not keeping us entertained with childhood stories, Jacqueline participates in 10k runs and Tough Mudder events regularly putting us all to shame!
